The right layout of a trading centre is a major step towards success
The work on project “TTS Srednefontanskiy” in Odessa is completed
Dmitriy Klimenko – head of project department of company TORPAL – will tell you about this event more detailed.
«We worked on the planning and on the fitting-out project of two floors in this shopping center. Total area made up approximately 5000 sq. m. I shall note that before that the maximum area of the object projected by our company was 3000 sq. m.
Formerly the trading space of this shopping center was organized in keeping with the best traditions of post-Soviet department stores: the area was divided into several small departments up to 10-15 sq.m, with minimum passages left between them.
But in the early ÕÕI century such forms of commercial processes organization became outdated – visitors of the shopping center wanted to see modern, well organized, light and understandable space.
Heads of shopping center understood the necessity of changes and set us a task to develop a new trade format for this object: fully open space without any partitions.
In such a way we faced a difficult but very interesting task: to properly and efficiently place 120 leaseholders on this free space.
Of course the project development process of such large scale is no laughing matter. It took us more than 3 months of hard work in which took part both our workers and representatives of shopping center: approvals, new ideas, flashes of inspiration and approvals again. Besides those questions that are always on the focus of designers’ attention – comfortable passages, logical disposition of commodity groups, effective use of shopping space, balance between shopping space and storage area – we had to take into account another important thing: the future shopping space should be attractive to all leaseholders. The possibility to efficiently do business not interfering into each others businesses and getting a certain kind of synergy resulting from right neighborhood of departments.
As a result all parties are pleased with the new layout created by our company.
When the layout of departments was approved the time came to choose shop equipment. For most commodity groups we used equipment of CHERRY series – it is perfectly suited for equipping of large trading objects and is universal enough to display different commodity groups in a favorable light. It also enables to zone the space without partitions.
Only for jewelry and perfumery departments we designed special shop equipment – these product groups deserve special attention and require individual approach. And if everything is done properly they can become a zest of shopping center.
I am happy that I worked on this project and now I am impatient to see it turned into reality: at the moment the equipment for TTS Srednefontanskiy is being manufactured on our factory and in December we’ll be able to appreciate the result of common efforts of all participants of the project: managers, designers, clients and workers».
